Annually, First Christian Church Garland provides financial support to the following Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) ministry efforts.

Disciples College Affiliations

As a part of the Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ) we are affiliated with many colleges and universities around the country. Closest to home, we are affiliated with Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. These schools receive funding through Disciples Mission Fund and pledge to serve and care for Disciples students and the church. Every year, FCCG takes an offering to send to Disciples Mission Fund in support of these schools. Through this covenant relationship, TCU and the other Disciples colleges emphasize the spiritual faith and values of the denomination and work to prepare students for life. They also demonstrate a strong, liberal arts, value-oriented approach to education. Disciples Crossing

Disciples Crossing, a ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), exists to provide a place of sanctuary and retreat for people of all ages to experience God through rest, renewal, fellowship, and spiritual enrichment. As a non-profit campground we rely heavily on volunteer work, and any service, no matter how big or small, is deeply appreciated.

First Christian Church Garland supports Disciples Crossing by sending our youth to camp each year, by using the camp for retreats, by volunteering to work on projects at the camp, and by contributing financially to the camp.

      Disciples Men's Mission

"You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you." John Bunyan a Puritan preacher in 1628.

Our annual weeklong projects help Disciple Churches and Camps build additions and structures through our Carpenters for Christ ministry. Volunteers from all over the Southwest region, including FCCG, come together to work, build, learn, teach, and fellowship.

      Disciples Mission Fund

Disciples Mission Fund (DMF) brings the whole Church together, connecting us to the life-giving and lifesaving work we have been called to do. It also simplifies giving for congregations and individuals, providing a way to support the entire Church at once. DMF-funded regional and general ministries offer opportunities for Disciples to serve as missionaries, attend college or seminary, advocate for the least of these, and so much more. Annually, First Christian Church Garland provides financial support to the Disciples Mission Fund.

      Week of Compassion

As the relief, refugee, and development mission fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Week of Compassion works with partners to alleviate suffering throughout the world.

At FCCG a special offering campaign supporting Week of Compassion is held annually over two Sundays in February.

      Acts 20:35

"In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

Come, join us at First Christian Church Garland to help people who are in need today.
