Sheri Dacon

Pianist

Sheri Dacon has served as the pianist at FCC Garland since 2013. Music has been a part of Sheri’s life for as long as she can remember and she has been active in church music all of her life. She began playing piano professionally at the age of 15 and has now enjoyed more than 40 years as a professional musician. She often says that she “grew up on the piano bench.”

Sheri holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Hardin-Simmons University and a Master of Music degree from Lamar University. Her musical career has included many years of teaching public school music, serving as a Kindermusik educator, teaching private piano, and more than 25 years of extensive experience as a collaborative pianist throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She is currently employed as the piano instructor at Brandenburg Middle School in Garland ISD, where she has the privilege of sharing her love of music with the next generation of musicians.

Sheri is passionate about music in all its forms, but especially about its essential role in worship. She believes that music has a unique ability to draw our hearts and minds closer to God, and each week she strives to lead the congregation into worship through her playing. She is committed to bringing her very best to this ministry, believing that excellence and professionalism are important ways of honoring God with the gift He has given her. Guided by the biblical call to “play skillfully,” she considers it a privilege to serve the church through music and is grateful for every opportunity to do so.

Sheri has been married to her husband, Eric, since 1998. They have four grown children—Kyle, Travis, Sara, and John—and a wonderful daughter-in-law, Krista. All four of their children are musical, much to their mother’s delight, and music continues to be a central part of their family life.
