" Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20
Disciples of Christ, is a group of Protestant churches that originated in the religious revival movements of the American frontier in the early 19th century. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is one of the three denominations descending from the Stone-Campbell movement of the nineteenth century, which has its source in the Second Great Awakening -- a period during which a number of Christian denominations underwent changes due to revivals. Along with Churches of Christ and the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ, Disciples help make the "three streams" of the Stone-Campbell movement.
As Disciples of Christ at First Christian Church Garland, we put our trust in God and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior through our Confession that He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. We practice believers' Baptism by immersion, while recognizing and accepting the validity of other forms.
