Rev. Dr. Shaun Brown
Associate Minister
Shaun Brown is a Pennsylvania native and a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers. He was ordained by his home church, Hempfield Church of Christ in Greensburg, PA, on November 26, 2006, and went through the process of Recognition of Ordination/Transfer of Standing within the Southwest Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He served congregations in youth and associate ministry in Tennessee. Shaun began serving as Associate Minister on August 8, 2021.
He is a graduate of Johnson University (BA, 2006), Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan (MDiv, 2010), and Wycliffe College, University of Toronto (PhD, 2019). He has served as an adjunct professor at several institutions in online and traditional settings, teaching courses in theology, ethics, and religious studies. A revised version of his PhD dissertation was published as George Lindbeck and the Israel of God: Scripture, Ecclesiology, and Ecumenism (Palgrave Macmillan, 2021). He is also the author of George Lindbeck: A Biographical and Theological Introduction (Cascade, 2022) and co-editor of Theology and Star Trek (Lexington Books/Fortress Academic, 2023). He is a fellow with the Center for Pastor Theologians (St. Hildegard Fellowship).
Shaun is married to Sherri Lynn O’Neal Brown, an occupational therapist at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, and they have three children: Adalyn, Emilia, and Ezra.
