Rev. Dr. Shaun Brown

Associate Minister

"So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; look, new things have come into being! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation."

Shaun Brown is a Pennsylvania native and a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers. He was ordained by his home church, Hempfield Church of Christ in Greensburg, PA, on November 26, 2006. He has served congregations in youth and associate ministry in Tennessee. He is currently working toward Transfer of Standing within the Southwest Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Shaun began serving as Associate Minister on August 8, 2021.

He is a graduate of Johnson University (BA, 2006), Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan (MDiv, 2010), and Wycliffe College, University of Toronto (PhD, 2019). He has served as an adjunct professor at several institutions in online and traditional settings, teaching courses in theology, ethics, and religious studies. A revised version of his PhD dissertation was published as George Lindbeck and the Israel of God: Scripture, Ecclesiology, and Ecumenism (Palgrave Macmillan, 2021). He is also the author of George Lindbeck: A Biographical and Theological Introduction (Cascade, 2022) and co-editor of Theology and Star Trek (Lexington Books/Fortress Academic, 2023).

Shaun is married to Sherri Lynn O’Neal Brown, an occupational therapist at Texas Health Dallas, and they have three children: Adalyn, Emilia, and Ezra.
