Special Interest Groups

Disciples Women
All women of the church automatically belong to the Disciples Women. The Disciples Women develops Christian women for spiritual leadership, Biblical knowledge and Christian service within the context of shared friendship and encourage fellowship. The Disciples Women circles meet monthly and all the women of the church are invited to meet together once a month for a fun, creative activity. The Day Group meets at 9:30 a.m. on the first Monday of each month and the Evening Group meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. Childcare is always available for all meetings. In an addition to the monthly gatherings, the Disciples Women enjoy various activities, social events and an annual retreat with other Disciples Women groups in our area. Every four years, a sizeable group even attends the International Disciples Women Conference. Call the office 972-272-5423 for more information.

Christian Men’s Fellowship
The Christian Men’s Fellowship meets for breakfast, devotional time, and fellowship on the third Saturday of each month at 8:00 a.m. Periodically, the men plan and participate in some service project. An annual fall retreat with other men in our area is usually well attended. Contact the church office or watch the church calendar for more information.

Elite Group
The Elite Group promotes friendship and fellowship among our retired members and their friends. They enjoy meeting and sharing a pot-luck lunch on the first Friday of each month at 10:00 a.m. and they gather for a monthly field trip to a variety of interesting places in the area. Call the church office for more information.

Covenant Groups
A small group is a place where people know your name and miss you when you’re absent. Covenant Groups provide an environment of friendship based on God’s covenant welcoming each of us. Covenant Groups meet weekly, at various times during the week.

Clean Air/AA Group
A non-smoking Alcoholics Anonymous Group meets near the top of the South stairway in room #18. Join them any Monday through Friday starting at 12:00 noon or Saturdays at 11:00am. Call 972-239-4599 to learn more about Alcoholics Anonymous.

Fall and Spring Bible Study Groups
Members and visitors alike look forward to the Fall and Spring Bible Study groups. The pastors of the church will lead a Bible study that explores all sorts of biblical or religious topics. This study is usually offered Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. Watch your newsletter for details.

Quilting Ministry
On every Wednesday between 10-2pm, women who love to sew and visit gather in room 17 for our Quilting Ministry. Sometimes the women make baby quilts to donate to Baylor of Garland and CPS. Recently, they worked together to produce a huge, beautiful quilt they raffled as a fundraiser. You don’t need to know how to quilt in order to join; you only need to want to learn.
