children - toddler to grade 5th ttj (2 years – kindergarten) Although we have four adults / parents who lead this group, we always encourage all parents to stay with their children for two reasons: 1) to help the child accommodate to the setting, and 2) to build a relationship and to have fellowship with other parents! For TTJ, each Sunday evening begins with a snack supper and then includes a craft / lesson / song that connect together. One of our most favorite memories with TTJ is last year when we went in the sanctuary and cracked the confetti out of our Easter Eggs! It was so much fun – come and join us! pyf (kindergarten – 3rd) While together as a group, PYF has time out on our playground and then separates into two smaller groups (one: k-1st and two: 2nd-3rd). In their individual rooms, the children learn songs, have a lesson (according to their current topic), and also have a craft that usually serves as either a gift to someone or as a decoration for the room! In the past, the groups have studied angels, not only from the Bible but also of what we know now. We also have a “kindness wall” that encourages and affirms all acts of kindness toward one another as well as ourselves! We have four adults who patiently love and keep this group of ‘energetic’ children together and in a fun and loving attitude! One of our favorite memories with PYF is when we had a progressive dinner, where we traveled (with our parents) from one house to another and had bite-sized snacks and played games! It was so good and can be even better with you! jyf (4th – 5th) Together as a group, there are games that can definitely cause you to break out in a sweat as well as opportunities to learn sign language. There are also regular trips to our local ‘Shaved Ice’ stand where we fellowship with tasty treats! The JYF group consistently shares a serious time for prayer at the closing of each meeting and they engage in worship / devotional once a month. Also, don’t forget to look at the camps & retreats information for details about the annual JYF camping retreat, it is by far the highlight of the year!
